Life Without, Voices of Children with Incarcerated Parents
Award-winning film maker, Melissa Mummert’s work in Charlotte with children of incarcerated parents has resulted in a powerful, thought-provoking 35 minute documentary Life Without, Voices of Children with Incarcerated Parents.
She and several of the children, who made short films of their lives that together make up the documentary, will be in Asheville to screen the film and lead a discussion on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 7 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Asheville (1 Edwin Pl. corner of Charlotte St & Edwin Pl)
Sponsored by Western Carolinians for Criminal Justice, the church’s Human Rights Task Force, and the Social Action Committee of the UU Congregation of the Swannanoa Valley, the film is free is open to the public.
