Fiber Fun in October
If you and your Little are in to knitting, weaving, spinning, felting, or pretty much anything to do with fiber and yarn, we have a great opportunity for you. If you like cute furry animals, like rabbits, sheep, angora goats, or Llamas and Alpacas, get ready to have fun. If you have been curious about any of these things, but don’t know where to begin, then get ready. The Southern Appalachian Fiber Fair is coming to the WNC Ag Center on October 22-24th. Big Sister Crystal Lawrence is part of the team which is putting the event together. She is looking for matches who can help turning skeins of yarn into balls (there is a simple device involved that does the job quickly.) Fair attendees will be charged a small fee for this service and the proceeds will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Matches who volunteer for a two hour shift will get free entry to the fair. For more information, visit the fair’s website http://www.saffsite.org. To volunteer, call Crystal at 242-3446.
