Polk BBBS coordinator Karen Dacey honored by Duke Energy

Duke Energy on Jan. 29 presented its Duke Energy Citizenship & Service Award to Karen Dacey, program coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Polk County, at the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting.

Dacey, fifth from the left in the photo, has been program coordinator for 15 years.

“(Karen) quietly leads by example and has become a well-loved leader in our community!” Duke Energy says in its recent newsletter. “Thanks Karen for all you do to support the families in Polk County.”
