Why: For 35 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC has been defending the potential of children in WNC though one-to-one mentoring relationships. These relationships provide Littles with the support they need to achieve academic improvement, growth in self-confidence and development of life skills. These important relationships also reward mentors with the experience of being an integral part of of that young person’s success.

Disney and Spirit Airlines Raffle Rules
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina (BBBS of WNC) is incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of North Carolina for the primary purpose of youth mentoring. The Walt Disney World and Spirit Airlines Raffle is being conducted for the purpose of generating operating funds for the benefit of BBBS youth mentoring programs.
Purchase one or more raffle tickets during the Disney and Spirit Airlines Raffle and you’ll be entered to win 4 one-day multi-park Disney World passes and 4 round-trip Spirit Airlines tickets from PTI in Greensboro to Orlando, Florida. Only 500 tickets will be sold. Raffle tickets are $20 each or 3 for $50 and benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC.Odds of winning are based on the number of ticket entries purchased up to 500. Must be 18 years of age or older. Contest void where prohibited. The raffle will begin at 12:01 pm on February 18, 2019 and will end at midnight on April 26, 2019. All times referenced for the Disney and Spirit Airlines Raffle are Eastern Time.
HOW TO ENTER: There are three ways to enter.
- Enter online by completing the online entry form and pay entry fee with credit card. Visit www.bbbswnc.org, choose the Event page, and then the Disney and Spirit Airlines Raffle page.
- Call Big Brothers Big Sisters at 828-253-1470 during regular business hours, M-F. Provide your entry information (name, address, telephone, email) over the phone along with credit card information.
- Mail completed entry form to Big Brothers Big Sisters, 50 S. French Broad Ave., Suite 213, Asheville, NC 28801 with your payment for $20 per ticket, or 3 tickets for $50.00. Entry forms may be downloaded at www.bbbswnc.org.Mailed entries must be received by Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC no later than April 26, 2019.
Ticket Purchases: Once submitted, entries become the sole property of Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC. All entries must include payment by check, money order, cash or credit card. No refunds will be made except under the following circumstances: any ticket order with payment received after 500 tickets have been sold or received after April 26, 2019, will be returned. No other refunds are available except in the exclusive discretion of BBBS of WNC. BBBS of WNC assumes no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected or non-delivered mail or fax messages, or any other failure to receive orders or deliver receipts prior to the drawing deadlines.
BBBS of WNC reserves the right to reject any Entry Form that is submitted with payment that does not constitute Good Funds. A payment does not constitute Good Funds if BBBS of WNC does not ultimately receive the payment or after receipt, must return the payment, such as due to a check or credit card payment that does not clear normal banking channels. All defective or physically altered Entry Forms may be immediately disqualified by BBBS of WNC. Prior to the Grand Prize drawing, BBBS of WNC has no obligation to, but may, at its sole discretion make a reasonable effort to notify the individual that submits such an Entry Form or one which has been rejected because it was submitted with payment that does not constitute Good Funds.
Eligibility: Current employees and/or Board members of Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC and any immediate family members residing with the employees are not eligible to participate. Must be 18 years or older to enter. Contest void where prohibited. You need not be present to win.
Current Big Brother or Big Sister volunteers are eligible to win. However, if upon winning the grand prize, the BBBS volunteer intends to have the Little Brother or Little Sister participate in the Disney World and Spirit Airlines trip, the BBBS volunteer will be required to obtain prior approval from the agency and parent/ guardian and follow the BBBS of WNC Overnight Policy.

Walt Disney World:
*Tickets are valid during normal operating hours (except from Dec. 25-31)and provide admission to one or more of the unique theme parks on the same day: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom.
*Parking is not included.
*The tickets may not be sold or exchanged for anything of value.
*The tickets have no cash value. They cannot be upgraded or applied towards a package to meet eligibility requirements.
*The tickets cannot be used from Dec. 25-31 and are not valid for events requiring separate admission.
*The tickets expire on April 4, 2020.
Spirit Airlines:
*Prize includes four (4) round-trip tickets on Spirit Airlines from PTI Airport in Greensboro to Orlando International Airport; valued up to $500 each including an assigned economy seat, one checked bag and one carry-on. All costs and expenses associated with the Prize acceptance and use not specified here, including but not limited to lodging, transportation costs, meals, gratuities and other expenses incurred by accepting the Prize are the sole responsibility of the Winner.
* All 4 tickets must be used for the same itinerary.
* The tickets expire on May 1, 2020.
Winning Odds: The odds of winning a prize will depend on the number of tickets sold. If all 500 tickets are sold, the odds of winning the Grand Prize is 1 in 500.
Selection and Notification of the Winner: Winner will be selected at random and announced on May 1, 2019. Winner will be notified by telephone, mail and/or email. If potential winner(s) cannot be reached after 10 days from first notification attempt, or if an entrant is found to be ineligible, or a prize notification is returned as undeliverable, such prize will be forfeited and alternate winner(s) will be selected by random drawing.
Modifications or Cancellation of Drawing: Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC reserves the right to cancel or modify the Raffle. If 500 tickets are not sold by midnight on April 26, 2019, Big Brothers Big Sisters, at its option, may cancel the raffle. In such case ticket purchases will be refunded.
Indemnification and Limit on Liability: As a condition of accepting a prize, winner acknowledges that Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC is not responsible for any harm, injury, or damage caused to any person or property, proximate or otherwise, through the use of any prize by any person, and agrees to save and hold harmless Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC, its principals and employees from any claim of such responsibility. “Harm, injury or damage” includes but is not limited to occurrences beyond the control of Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC such as death, bodily injury, property damage, or theft.
General: Ticket purchases are non-refundable and are not tax deductible. By entering the raffle, participants agree that Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC, its agents and employees have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind which result from the date of award. The prize is non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash. Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC may use winner’s name and likeness for publicity purposes without further compensation. Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC is not responsible for any failure of communication or failure of the Internet or its website. Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC reserves the right to modify these rules and will give prompt announcement of any rule changes. All decisions of Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC are final and binding in all matters related to this raffle.
Tax Obligations: All local, state and federal taxes and fees are the sole responsibility of the winner. For this prize, which is valued at $2200 or more, Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC will file IRS Form W2-G with Internal Revenue Service reporting the value of the prize as income to the winner. Winner must show proof of social security number to Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC. This is for tax recording purposes only and will be not be used or released for any other purposes.
Restrictions:
By participating in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC Raffle, a participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules, and by all decisions of Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC. A raffle participant’s sole remedy for any breach of this contract by Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC shall be limited to the return of the purchase price paid for his or her raffle ticket(s). In no event shall the released parties be liable to any participant or third party for any loss or injuries to earnings, profit or goodwill, or for any incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages of any person or entity whether arising in contract, tort or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability / Publicity Release of Grand Prize Winner: The Winner will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity/Liability Release in order to claim their prize.
Authority and Control: The decision of Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC shall be final in all matters concerning the Raffle. The Raffle is subject to the laws of the state of North Carolina. The Raffle is void where prohibited by law. Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC is not responsible for any errors or omissions in the Raffle’s advertising and/or any printed, broadcast, or internet-provided materials or information.
Oversight: The accounting firm of Bell and Olander will officiate the drawing of the Grand Prize on Friday, May 1, 2019.
