Look at these happy faces! BBBS Cherokee County’s end-of-school event for Littles was a lot of fun.
Held April 18 at the Konehete Park in Murphy, the event brought together more than 70 local Littles for a day of activities that included football, basketball, axe throwing, soccer, kickball, corn hole, face painting, rafting, and swimming. The group also enjoyed a lunch of pizza and snacks.
BBBS Cherokee County would like to offer big thanks to the community members who made this event possible – Pee Wee Davis, from the CC Rec Department; Diane Brown and Mary Beth Cornwell, registered life guards; Wendy Alexander’s drama girls for face painting; Shannon Coleman from Cherokee County Extension Office, for crafts; The Block of Murphy, for help in setting up; REACH of Murphy, for games and goodies; and a number of high school Bigs and adult Bigs, whose help allows us to put on BBBS Cherokee events.
BBBS Cherokee invites adults and high school students over 16 to serve as Bigs. This link will answer many of your questions.
