Bowl For Kids’ Sake is BBBS Graham County’s signature annual fundraiser, serving as a vital element in making it possible for mentors to continue empowering the potential of Graham County’s youth. All money raised by bowlers and contributors stays in the county and will help support the program for the 2019-2020 school year.
“Creating a team for the Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraiser is a great opportunity for groups of people from companies, organizations, churches or other interest groups to build rapport and create team spirit by coming together to make a positive impact right here in their community,” said Robin Myer, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina.
BBBS Graham County invites teams of three to five people to join in on this fun community event. Each bowler is asked to raise a minimum of $50, or $35 for youth under 18, to help the branch reach its goal of $8,000. The event’s lead sponsor Neora is matching the first $3,000 raised, in effect doubling many people’s contributions.
Each bowler will bowl two games, receive free shoe rental and a T-shirt, and have the satisfaction that they are helping professionally supported adult volunteers help Graham County children who need positive, life-changing mentoring.
If you cannot join BBBS Graham County for the bowling, please consider making an individual donation. Contact the branch’s program coordinator, Katrina Nelms, at 828-735-2717 or katrinanelms@gmail.com to sign up your team or for more information.
