At our March meeting of Rutherford County High School Bigs at Lake Lure Classical Academy, Terri Abrams Lassiter of The Institute of Leadership returned to us to talk about leadership, perspective, self-awareness, and “the power of pause” in a situation.
Last November, Terri, a National Guard veteran who drove five-ton trucks, met with our High School Bigs to talk about leadership, responsibility, and achievement. The group discussed how leaders handle differences of opinion and how they could apply Terri’s insights to the Bigs’ relationships with their Littles. She also talked about jobs in the military and the benefits of being in service.
“Terri is so amazing talking with our kids,” said Jessica Toney, Polk and Rutherford BBBS Program Manager.
