Lots of great news in the BBBS Cashiers Highlands branch!

Danielle Hernandez is “super excited” about all the things happening with BBBS Cashiers Highlands, where she’s Program Coordinator.

Advisory Council members Ken Carrig and Margaret Carton have found 13 sponsors for teams of Bigs and Littles to participate in Bowl For Kids’ Sake. That work has raised $1,300 for BBBS Cashiers Highlands so far!

The branch is growing! Recently it matched Big Brother Scott and Little Brother Evan (pictured above). Two more matches were scheduled for confirmation! Faviola Olvera, another Advisory Council member, is helping translate BBBS forms and information packets into Spanish.

Because of Advisory Council members Ricky Siegel and Bernie Love, food pantries in Cashiers and Highlands will be giving out BBBS information folders to families. During the pandemic, council members pictured below have been volunteering to help protect their communities in a variety of ways, whether it’s administration of vaccines, testing for COVID and/or helping with the local initiative to call for vaccine sign-ups.

“Just so much great stuff to share,” Danielle says.
