We have lots of new matches to celebrate!
In Polk County, Big Sister Katharine and Little Sister Cora Leigh are excited to start working on math and enjoying fun activities. Cora Leigh said she was smiling all day, looking forward to meeting her Big! (More caring mentors are needed to support students in Polk County. Email Tara Scoma at polk@bbbswnc.org.)
In Henderson County, Little Brother Marcus and Big Brother Steve (at right), our newest school-based match, are excited to read, play games, and learn origami together (check out their work!)..
Also in Henderson County, Little Sister Mary and Big Sister Polly (left), our newest community-based match, are excited to get to know each other, arrange flowers, go snow tubing, and learn about Polly’s animals!
Richie and Carrie Griffin (at right), recruited during a Young Professionals of Haywood meeting, were matched with Little Brother Leland. Richie has taken Leland to fly a remote airplane. The match plans to hike and fish.
Haywood County also matched Big Brother Van and Little Brother Kayden (no photo yet). Currently eating out and visiting the local ski area, they have plans to build a train set in Van’s basement once they hit the three-month mark.
