The goal was to have members engaged in service projects to share the impact AmeriCorps members have all over the country each and every day.
To really showcase what our members are doing and convey the positive impact they are making, current members joined with alums and they served side-by-side at two of our partnering charter schools: ArtSpace Charter School in Swannanoa and Fern Leaf Community Charter School in Fletcher.
At ArtSpace, members set up an assortment of literacy-themed games and manned the game stations as students made the rounds, playing each game and while developing their literacy skills. Later in the week, members, students and school personnel joined forces at Fern Leaf to get a LOT done among the campus’ expansive outdoor learning centers
