Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina has received a NIMble grant from Nantahala Health Foundation to support BBBSWNC’s new outdoor hiking program.
The NIMble grant (“Needs Immediately Met”) will help BBBSWNC teach Littles about the advantages of spending time in natural surroundings, thereby increasing their physical fitness level and instilling long-term, healthy habits around leisure activity and nutrition choices.
The grant is part of more than $204,000 that Nantahala Health Foundation made to WNC nonprofits and public service organizations that are working to improve health and wellness outcomes for all.
Created from the sale of Mission Health System to HCA, Nantahala Health Foundation, a public 501(c)3 nonprofit, is a successor foundation charged with improving the health, wellness, and overall quality of life for those living in the westernmost region of North Carolina, including Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Jackson, Macon, and Swain counties, as well as the Qualla Boundary.
Thank you, Nantahala Health Foundation!
