Big Brothers Big Sisters of Burke County got a recent mention in The Morganton News-Herald as a beneficiary of its eighth annual Build-A-Backpack Back to School Bash to be held Saturday, Aug. 17.
“The Burke County United Way, along with many other organizations and businesses in the area, have teamed up again to collect and distribute back to school supplies for students in need at Burke County Public Schools,” the story begins. “… A huge collaborative of agency partners (include), including Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Burke County, Burke United Christian Ministries, Burke County Public Schools … have come together to provide an amazing day for local students.”
