Nearly Christmas, and we have so many matches to celebrate!

Christmas is just a week away, and we already have so much to celebrate! We welcome these new Bigs and Littles to BBBSWNC.

BBBS Henderson County is thrilled about this new School-Based Match – Big Brother Bob and Little Brother Jay’Shawn, matched at Bruce Drysdale Elementary. They look forward to working on academics, sharing their love of sports, and playing games together.

In Buncombe County, Little Brother Kyce’Son and Big Brother Marc are looking forward to playing football, going to sporting events, riding bikes together, and maybe even learning how to play tennis!

Also in Buncombe, Little Sister Phoenix and Big Sister Claire look forward to going swimming at the YMCA, as well as to horseback riding, rock climbing, and many other outdoor adventures!

New to Buncombe are Little Sister Evie and Big Sister Lelia, who were matched because they both have an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy playing sports. They look forward to trying new things together.

In Haywood County, Linda Huber, a retired school teacher, is a new Big Sister through our School-Based program. Matched with Little Sister Eliana at Hazelwood Elementary, the two plan to color, read, play games, and have great conversations. Eliana’s teacher was super-excited for Eliana to receive one-on-one attention.

Also in Haywood, Big Sister Susan and Little Sister Sophie, matched in the Community-Based  program Oct. 20, are no strangers to each other – they were a Site-Based match for a year. Both have decided they will attend craft festivals, go walking, see movies, and venture out to eat.   Sophie likes art and writing (last year Sophie wrote a book for a class project with Susan’s help).

On Dec. 16, Little Brother Eli and Big Brother Justin became Haywood County’s most recent Community-Based match. Justin has many hobbies in his workshop that he would like to share with Eli. Both love building things, as well as biking and Star Wars. Eli’s sister was matched several weeks back in the Site-Based program.
