Passport For Fun!

Week 4 – Egypt

Nina Ervin

Today’s Passport For Fun destination takes us to Egypt, where long ago pharaohs ruled over kingdoms and built pyramids and temples, Nina Ervin in Burke County tells us. Grab some sunscreen and some water, and let’s go!

Week 3 – South Africa

Paul Clark

Grab your Passport For Fun – this week Paul Clark in Buncombe County takes us to South Africa, a country crazy about soccer (search Youtube for some outrageous dribbling and ball-handling skills in the South African Premier Division ). And go online to find music by Bongo Maffin and Simphiwe Dana – you’ll love it! Extra added bonus – click on the video below and you’ll meet Selene, the sweetest kitty in the whole wide world!

Week 2 – Brazil

Martha Barksdale

Ready to fly off to Brazil? Our Passport for Fun flight coordinator, Ally Sloss of the Asheville office (below), goes through the pre-flight instructions, and Martha Barksdale of the Haywood County office celebrates Brazil’s highlights, like the vast, wet Amazon forest and the national soccer team, which has won the World Cup how many times (watch this short video to find out!).

Week 1 – Mexico

Danielle Hernandez

Buckle up, Littles and Bigs! This week our Passport for Fun takes us to Mexico with this short video by Program Coordinator Danielle Hernandez. Cashiers/Highlands). Check out her recommendations for Día de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead, and chilquiles, crispy tortillas swimming in rich salsa and covered with cheese! Yum!
