Two book resources to help your Little understand what’s going on

Here is an excellent article shared by our national organization about how to talk to youth about racism and what is happening in our country. When you talk to your Little, please don’t ignore this conversation. The kids need to talk about what they are seeing and hearing. You don’t need to have all the answers, you just need to ask what they think and be ready to listen. It will be helpful to read this article first.
Here are two resources – “33 Books Featuring Black Heroes and Characters That Every Kid Should Read” and “31 Children’s books to support conversations on race, racism and resistance” –
for books for youth that might help them gain understanding and process their feelings about what is going on in our country.
If you decide to order one for your Little and order from Amazon, please remember to go to Amazon Smile (smile.amazon.com) and select Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Western NC. Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to us.
