Here’s “Unity,” the bear who will benefit BBBSWNC during downtown Hendersonville’s annual Bearfootin’ Art Walk. The sculpture, by artist Amy Thomas and sponsored by the Hendersonville Woman’s Club, is one of 20 works that will adorn downtown sidewalks before they are auctioned in October.
BBBSWNC will receive at least half of the first $3,000 raised for “Unity.” Virtual bidding (hendersonvillenc.gov/bearfootin) begins Sept 15 and closes Oct. 15 at a live event at the historic courthouse on Main Street.
Bearfootin’ Art Walk is meant to show off the good work being done by community organizations in Henderson County. Last year, the Bears raised more than $100,000 for local nonprofits, including BBBSWNC.
