Devin Bryson, a Little in BBBS Cashiers & Highlands, has been matched with his Big Brother, Peter Maddock, for five years. They started as a school-based match and eventually switched to a community-based match amid COVID. Devin, who graduated from high school this year, has shared on many occasions that he values his Big Brother’s friendship and guidance, especially since Peter is a former math professor for Western Carolina University. Through Peter’s guidance, Devin has pursued his love for mathematics and was accepted to N.C. State and is pursuing a degree in engineering. Devin and his dad, Clay, have shared that there is “no doubt” that Devin and Peter will remain friends after BBBS.
