After two years of volunteering, personal growth, athletic achievement and cultural exploration, Lucas Johnson, a Polk County High School senior, earned the Congressional Award Gold Medal – the United States Congress’ highest honor for young Americans.

Mason Hudson, a graduate of Polk County High School, is headed to N.C. State with a Norman L. Spivey Memorial Scholarship, named after the father of Jessica Toney, BBBS Polk Program Coordinator.
Judson Bragdon of Rutherford County won scholarships from Boyce College, the Community Foundation of WNC, Fairfield Mountains Chapel, Green River Baptist Association, and the Lake Lure Lions Club.
Dottie Drummond of Rutherford County received scholarships – Academic Merit and Theater Awards – from Washington College.
Sam Terry of Rutherford County received a scholarship from Gardner-Webb University.
Braylon Hornbeck of Rutherford County won a scholarship from Fairfield Mountains Chapel.
