July’s Big of the Month Marilyn knows her Little’s family well

“Consistency is very important,” Little Sister Kyorie’s mom said.

When Little Sister Kyorie was referred to Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2011, her mom said she needed to get out, see and do things, and get one-on-one attention. “Consistency is very important,” Mom said.

Big Sister Marilyn has certainly filled those conditions for the past eight years, regularly meeting one-on-one with Kyorie to get ice cream, go rock climbing, practice new art skills, tour the Biltmore, take walks, hang out, and talk about life.

Over the years, Marilyn has formed closed relationships with Kyorie’s family members, as well. Marilyn is also a strong educational advocate for Kyorie, regularly participating in school meetings, and offering Kyorie support and encouragement around her studies and her future.

Thank you, Marilyn, for all you have done and continue to do as Kyorie’s Big Sister!
