Who says there’s nothing to do in the winter? Despite the cold wet weather, our Polk Bigs have kept their Littles engaged with fun activities.
Big Sister Susie is teaching her Little Sister Malia how to ride her favorite horse Emma. Malia recently got to see her Big Sister in a starring role of Tryon Little Theater’s musical production of “Mamma Mia!” where Susie rocked the role of the bride’s mother. Malia’s sibling Little Sister and her Big Sister Brooke are getting in the spirit of spring by donning Easter bunny ears, while Little Sister Amiee recently met her Big Sister’s new baby bunnies.
Big Sister and Big Brother Debbie and Larry took their Littles Morgan and Zavier to the circus, and quite a few of our matches enjoyed the annual Super Saturday Children’s Theater Festival, including BB Bob and LB Aaron, BS Helen and LS Allie, BS Linda and LS Esmeralda. The renovated Tryon Movie Theatre has been a popular hangout all winter.
And it’s doubtful that any Littles have turned down a trip to a local ice cream shop, with options in Columbus, Tryon, Landrum and Saluda for frozen tasty treats. Hiking, baking, jewelry making, thrift shop browsing, exploring the area and anything to do with eating good food have all been fun choices for our Bigs and Littles, with Kite Day at FENCE just around the corner to welcome in spring time!
