When is Bowl for Kids’ Sake?

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters’ signature fundraiser. Each year half a million people across America come together to have fun and raise money to support Big Brothers Big Sisters as we change how children grow up! Bowl for Kids’ Sake is the perfect way for individuals to make an impact on our community- it only takes a little bit of effort to raise the money that is vital to our program’s success.
Where does the money go?
The Big Brothers Big Sisters agency depends on donations to enroll volunteers, including background checks to ensure child safety, to enroll youth and families, to match Bigs and Littles, and to provide ongoing professional support for children, families and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships. Programs include Community-based Mentoring, School-based Mentoring, and After-School Mentoring.
Your role in this effort to help local children can not be overstated! We need your help to raise community awareness of the challenges faced by local children and to ask for the financial support needed to help change the trajectory of a child’s life.
How can I get involved?
Step 1: Round up four (4) friends to join you on a bowling team! Register a team for a bowling time by calling the branch office nearest you.
Step 2: Raise funds before the event to support Big Brothers Big Sisters programs in your local county! Each bowler raises a minimum of $50 to participate! You can use our online fundraising to raise money easily and securely! Just create a fundraising page and email your friends and family! Click on the link for the event you are supporting! Click “Register”; if you cannot attend the event, choose “Be a Virtual Bowler”. Otherwise, choose “Create a team” or “Join a team”.
Step 3: Remind your team members the event date and your team’s bowling time. Encourage them in their fundraising efforts!
Step 4: Bring the money you have raised to the event! A list of donations you raised online will be at the check-in table at the event. Each bowler who raises at least $50 will receive a free t-shirt, free pizza and will have the chance to win cool door prizes!
